In Piedmont, the Committee "no nuke"
MOBILIZATION. The choice of a return to nuclear power entails costs and risks are and will remain high and long lasting.
The choice of a return to nuclear power entails costs and risks are and will remain high and enduring: nuclear proliferation (although the "French model" proposed to us is inextricably linked to military uses of the atom) the impact on the area (huge water consumption for cooling the reactor), security in an age of international terrorism, the issue of decommissioning at the conclusion of their cycle of exploitation, management of radioactive waste disposal, the collapse of the attractiveness turistica del territorio e della genuinità dei prodotti agro-alimentari.
It is therefore necessary and urgent that the citizens and organizations, who consider the choice of returning to nuclear wrong, dangerous and expensive as well, join in "antinuclear committees" at the regional level, in order to share and optimize their forces and knowledge.
This mobilization is all the more necessary and urgent in Piedmont, where it is stored more than 85% of radioactive waste where the Italian and regional president Roberto Cota is presented as the proponent of the "nuclear no ifs, ands or buts," unlike Governors of all other Italian regions, even center-right, which instead have made claims and distinction. We appeal to citizens and towns in Piedmont that will stand in the coming weeks, the anti-nuclear Committee of Piedmont, open to all and everyone, without exception ideological, political and party, strictly non-violent.
